John Verrios Airola has been working in the personal injury field for over 27 years. He is a 1986 graduation of California State University, Chico and a 1991 graduate of University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Mr. Airola lived in Butte County for five years.
He has successfully handled thousands of personal injury cases, and has taken many of these cases to jury trials in both state and federal court. In addition, Mr. Airola has done hundreds of arbitrations and mediations, both as an attorney and as a mediator / arbitrator.
On September 9, 2015, the Butte Fire, which started near Butte Mountain Road, in Amador County and then spread to Calaveras County, nearly wiped out the community where Mr. Airola grew up. His family has lived in that area since the 1870’s and have been lawyers there since 1916. Consequently, when the Butte Fire occurred, hundreds of victims came to Mr. Airola and the Airola Family for legal help. Mr. Airola, along with a team of other law firms, successfully represented hundreds of the Butte Fire victims against PG&E and its contractors, recovering hundreds of millions of dollars.
Before working on behalf of injured persons, Mr. Airola was hired by insurance companies to work on their behalf, against injured persons. Consequently, Mr. Airola has an in-depth, working knowledge of how insurance companies handle claims and therefore can help maximize your recovery.
Mr. Airola comes from a long line of attorneys. His grandfather the Hon. Virgil M. Airola, was sworn into the State Bar of California in 1916. Then in 1950, his uncle, the Hon. Orrin K. Airola and cousin, Lowell Airola became attorneys in California. Both Virgil M. Airola and Orrin K. Airola became District Attorneys and Superior Court Judges in Calaveras County. There have been 11 people in the Airola Family who have been attorneys, in both California and Illinois.
Mr. Airola grew up on a cattle and hay ranch in the "Motherlode" area of the California Foothills. He brings the country toughness he lived as a child and adolescent to his work as a personal injury attorney.
In his spare time Mr. Airola enjoys road and mountain biking, running, playing the trumpet, listening to music and spending his time with his wife, attorney Tuesday L. Airola of Airola Law Offices, and their four children.
